The Crane Dance Show @ Resort World Sentosa on 22 Jan 11

On 22 Jan 2011 at about 7.30pm, a bus load of residents from Bishan East Zone 6 RC went to Resort World at Sentosa for the Crane Dance Show. On arrival at the Resort World, all participants went to view the Valentino Exhibition where we could view the past, present and future fashion. After viewing the exhibits, all assembled and proceeded for the Crane Dance Show. It was a very colourful and spectacular show. The show last about 15 minutes. It was free and easy. Left the resort at about 10pm with memorable experience.

Bishan East Zone 6 RC Block Party "GO GREEN"

On 20 Nov 2010, Bishan East Zone 6 RC organised a Block Party with the theme "Go Green" in conjunction with the Clean & Green Week at Blk 154 Bishan St 13. A booth for collection of used materials for recycling in exchange for a souvenir was set up by NEA. As early as 5.45pm, residents started streaming in with their old clothes, newspapers, books bottles, etc. Members worked very hard weighing the materials for record. Art and craft with recycled materials contest for all residents was also organised. The contest started at about 6.30pm to 7.15pm. Dinner was also served. While residents were having their dinner interacting with one another, our Guest-of-Honour Mr Wong Kan Seng, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, MP for Bishan Toa Payoh GRC arrived. He was warmly welcomed by all residents. He proceeded to present CCC CDC Polytehnic bursary to two recipients who are staying in our Zone. There was also a birthday celebration for residents born in November. Mr Wong Kan Seng then moved from table to table interacting and taking photo with the residents. After interacting with all residents, he left for another event in Bishan. All residents present boarded the 3 buses which were waiting to bring them for a Singapore River Cruise commencing from Liang Court. They were very excited. After the cruise, the buses bypass Orchard Road to give them a glimpse of the Orchard Road Xmas Light Up. It was a fantastic sight. The event ended at about 10.30pm.

Block Party on 7 Aug 2010 at Blk 166 Bishan St 13 Void-deck

Dear Residents

On Sat 7 Aug 2010, Bishan East Zone 6 RC organised a Block Party with the theme 'Let's Cheer for the Journey of Youth Olympic Flame' at the void deck of Blk 166 from 2 - 4pm. There were games, food & lucky draws. The most exciting part of the event was to cheer the torch bearer for the SYOG when they passed by Blk 166 on their first Singapore Leg.

Residents' Block Party at the Open Badminton Court beside Blk 164

Bishan East Zone 6 RC organised a block party for their residents on the sunny Sunday of 7 March 2010. The block party was held at the open badminton court beside block 164.The event was graced by the Guest-Of-Honour, Mr Wong Kan Seng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC. Residents were entertained by Magic Show cum Ventriloquial Show, Body Tattoo, Balloon Sculptures & Stage Games while enjoying breakfast in the cool shades. DPM Wong had the opportunity to interact with a new resident who came from Haerbin, China! Here's the photo album for the event.

Christmas Party For Everyone @ Blk 154 Bishan St 13 Void Deck on 19 Dec 09

A Christmas Party was organised for residents at Blk 154 Bishan St 13 void deck. The party started from 7pm with a buffet dinner. After dinner, all particpants have a game of muscial chair. They were much laughter and joy. Prizes were given to those who were holding a lion soft toy when the music stopped. There were games like remembering dance moves, spelling, and quizzes on Bishan East Zone 6 RC. Towards the end of the event, there were exchanged of gifts brought by participants. Block Party at Blk 167 Bishan St 13 on 5 Dec 09

Bishan East Zone 6 Residents' Committee organised a Block Party at Blk 167 Bishan St 13. Close to 100 residents turned up to view the NEA exhibition on energy saving tips. Residents learn on how to cut down on their utility bills, while the children were treated to a magic show. Residents were invited to participate in a game of BINGO while eager children and their parents participated in a short quiz given by Doreen Teo, our representative from the National Environment Agency. During the block party, DPM Wong was invited to give away the Good Neighbour Award to Ms Tan Tong Khoon and Mr Abdul Razak. The Good Neighbour Award aims to recognise residents who have shown acts of kindness, neighbourliness and have contributed in promoting graciousness, harmony and cohesion in the community. Congratulations again to the award winners.

Residents' Block Party @ Blk 158 Bishan St 13 Void Deck on 5 Sep 09

A Block Party was organised for residents of Bishan East Zone 6 RC at Blk 158 on 5 Sep 09. The event was graced by our DPM, Minister for Home Affairs and MP for Bishan Toa Payoh GRC, Mr Wong Kan Seng. There was a talk and demonstration on stress management with a quiz where prizes were given to participants. To cater to children, a magic show was also organised for them. Ballons with different design were given to all children. Feedbacks and appreciations were received by DPM, Mr Wong Kan Seng on our estate during intereaction. The event ended with a lucky draw for all participants.
